- Critical Numbers
- Extrema
- Finding Absolute Extrema
- Class Notes
- Started Discussing Finding Relative Extrema
- Text Next Class: Ch 2b. Here's what is in Ch 2b
- Derivative of inverse trig
- Know all six
- You should be able to evaluate things like arctan(-1) and arcsin(-1/2)
- Derivative of inverse functions
- Remember that you aren't going to actually find the inverse function, you're just going to apply the formula
- Related Rates
- Rectilinear Motion
- L'Hospitals Rule
- Implicit Differentiation
- You can use the trick I posted in the video last week if you are comfortable with it
- Logarithmic Differentiation
- Don't forget to apply all the log properties before taking the derivative. Don't stop at ln( (x+2)2(x+3) ) = ln( (x+2)2 )+ln( x+3 ). Go all the way to 2ln( x+2 )+ln( x+3 )
- Don't forget to mulitply by y at the end and plug in what y stands for
- Ch 2a topics are still fair game: Product/Quoteint/Chain Rules, Derivative Properties, Making Piecewise functions differentiable, Limit Definition of Derivative
- The best reviews are the things you have done for homework
- I want to give you as much time as possible to work on the test, so don't expect me to go over problems at the start of class
- Derivative of inverse trig
- Homework
- p. 217 (11, 17, 27, 30, 35, 39, 41, 43, 47, 63, 71, 72, 74, 75)
- Not homework, but...every day for the next month is probably going to involve the word "critical numbers" which means a lot of finding zeros which means a lot of factoring. If factoring is not your strong point, check out this page.

- Ch. 2b Test
- Homework
- None, unless you skipped algebra II and need to brush up on factoring skills. In that case, your homework is to check out this page.

- Mean Value Theorem
- Rolle's Theorem
- Class Notes
- Quiz Tuesday, November 5
- Existence Theorems
- MVT
- Rolle's
- In my head, this is a quiz about MVT and Rolle's, but part of understanding those is understanding when you should and should not apply them, so it's possible an IVT question could make its way on the quiz.

- Existence Theorems
- Homework
- Pg. 224: #11, 15, 19, 23, 33, 35, 39, 41, 43, 53, 57, 82, 83
